A Doctor’s Appointment Can Often Delay Other Plans

03 Apr

Diane was at the dentist. Her front tooth had chipped and she wanted to get it fixed. She had an appointment for 3 in the afternoon. But when she went there the doctor was running behind schedule and she was asked to wait. She picked up a magazine. There was an advertisement in the magazine which mentioned child benefit helpline number. She went through the magazine but did not find anything interesting to read so she kept it aside. She was curious to know how much longer she would be made to wait. She kept getting messages from her friends. They were all waiting for her at the coffee shop from where they had plans to go for a movie. She did not want to keep them waiting and miss the movie. She asked the receptionist to find out how much longer it would take for the doctor to see her. The receptionist could not give her a definite answer and so without wasting any further time Diane asked her to reschedule the appointment for another day. She fixed an appointment for a day that suited both the doctor and her. She left from there and met up with her friends in time for the movie.
